About this tour
Together, Tsavo East and Tsavo West make up one of the largest protected areas in Africa, and they feel wilder and emptier than the better-known parks. Tsavo East is flat, open and red, and its elephants are dusted rust-coloured from rolling in the soil. Tsavo West is hilly and volcanic, with lava flows, springs and dramatic views.
You spend a day in each park. In Tsavo West, watch hippos and crocodiles from the underwater viewing chamber at Mzima Springs and walk across the Shetani lava flow. In Tsavo East, look for the red elephants, lions and huge herds of buffalo, and visit Lugard Falls on the Galana River.
The price is per person sharing, full board, in a mid-range lodge. Budget and luxury options are available — tell us your preference and we'll quote you.

Day 1
To Tsavo West
Early departure and drive to Tsavo West. Afternoon game drive with stops at Mzima Springs and the Shetani lava flow. Dinner and overnight at a lodge.

Tsavo West to Tsavo East
Morning game drive in Tsavo West, then cross into Tsavo East. Afternoon game drive in search of the red elephants, and a visit to Lugard Falls. Dinner and overnight.

Morning game drive and departure
Sunrise game drive around the Aruba Dam area, breakfast, then continue to Mombasa or back to Nairobi.

Free cancellation up to 30 days before departure. Cancellations 8–29 days before departure are refunded 50% of the tour price; cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable.
