About this tour
The Giraffe Centre is run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW) Kenya. It began in the late 1970s as a breeding programme to protect the Rothschild's giraffe, and today it is one of Nairobi's best-loved stops for families and first-time visitors.
From a raised wooden platform you come face to face with the giraffes at feeding time, and short talks explain the centre's conservation and education work. An easy, short visit that suits all ages, including on your arrival or departure day.
